Well, you probably came from Google+ after reading my teaser post for this announcement, so, let's just get straight to the point. Well, in simple-tons speech: feren OS is going rolling-release. You might be thinking right now having read that "What Has The feren OS Developer Been Thinking? Linux Mint Ubuntu Edition isn't Rolling Release!", well, that's correct, except the part where it IS NOT. That's because, DPKG and the way Ubuntu and Linux Mint Upgrade. See, they just update packages, and in all reality, that's what a rolling release is, an OS with no end of support that's continually updated, and Fixed/Rolling Release play part in part, as in the end, they both update packages when upgraded. Hence, it is possible for an OS based on a Fixed Release OS to be Rolling Release, as long as there's a PPA. That's the other thing, you might or might not know, but feren OS now has an Official PPA! Just run this command to add it: sudo echo "deb [trusted=yes] http://sourceforge.net/projects/feren-os-repositories/files/ ./" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/feren-os.list DISCLAIMER: This PPA is newborn as of writing this, and was helped to be set up by Jacque Montagues Raymer, hence, the lack of GPG keys, and so on for it, those will come in their own time. So, yeah, prepare for THE FIRST ROLLING RELEASE LINUX MINT DISTRIBUTION, starting 2017.1, or should I say, 2017.0X (Where X is the month it's released), or 2017 MONTHRELEASEDHERE Snapshot. (Yeah, there's no release date confirmed for 2017.1, yet.) ferenLook out Zorin OS, feren OS can now be classed as a proper distribution, with a PPA, and so on. It'll be fun competing with you Zorin OS Team, let's see who makes Linux more well-known in the future... :)
