Murdock.Well, yesterday marked one year since the (most likely) darkest day in Debian's History, and that was when they found their founder to have died in his house, yes, I'm talking about Ian Murdock. I promised some people that I'd reveal the codename of 2017.0 and I'm not exactly one to break promises. feren OS 2017.0 would've always started with 'M' on it's codename since the stucture was alphabetical starting with 'L' (Lucid), but when the death of Murdock occured, I always wanted to give him that little tribute and so, for feren OS 2017.0, I wanted to name 'M' after him as a little (if not significant) tribute towards him, afterall, without him, one of the most popular Linux Distributions would've never existed... My thoughts are as always to Ian's friends and family as much as the Linux Community's are too. Codename Structure ChangesAlso, now, on a lighter note, to make releases easier to differentiate from each other, I will no longer be changing the codename of new releases per year, but instead, now, per release, so now EVERY release will have a different codename from the other... feren...also, Happy New Year Folks! (A recap on the events at feren all year around will come tommorow)

AuthorIt's great making something for the community that might become quite big and remain for a very long time to continue serving the community and helping Linux as a result. Categories
