One year ago today, feren OS 2015.0 was released to the public, it was the start of a new road for the feren OS Project into what me, and the graphics designer, ThibaultClm, always wanted, to make a real OS. What was before feren OS?Beforehand, feren OS was simply just a shell that would then run on top of Windows under the name of 'Zuaro OS' for a while, and then 'feren DE For Windows' and gave a slight glimpse of what feren OS wanted to look like in its future form. Why Ubuntu?Originally, when I tried to make an OS, I looked to Linux from Scratch, but that was WAY to complicated for the likes of me to do, so then someone directed me to Ubuntu in 2013 to tell me about it, I got 12.04 LTS via WUBI (Windows Ubuntu Installer), then actually grew accustomed to it using it more than Windows after a while despite the low Ubuntu disk size in WUBI, then, a couple of years later, I installed it again, this time, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS finding out WUBI no longer worked on EFI systems sadly, and then eventually installed it for real as a dual boot with Windows 8.1 until then disaster struck, and well, only Ubuntu wanted to boot itself up afterwards, then was simply the thing of firstly finding out about Ubuntu Builder, which turned out to fail when 2015.X was released, then, I found out about LiveCDCustomization on the Ubuntu Wiki, and since then, well, feren OS has been made and made again with that wiki because it just works Anyways, happy birthday feren OS! feren OS is now 1 year old... :)feren
