Step 1: Download Feren OS
To begin, download Feren OS using the link below - you will get a .iso file, otherwise known as a Disk Image File, which will be required for the next steps:

Step 2: Get a USB and flash Feren OS onto it
You will now need to have a USB drive on hand - they typically look like this:

Insert the USB into the computer that you downloaded Feren OS onto earlier, and follow the guide below to flash Feren OS onto the USB, ready to be installed:
Step 3: Prepare Windows for the installation
Now your USB has been flashed, you need to do some final tasks in Windows:
1. Disable "Fast Startup"
2. If you have the NVIDIA App, turn off Secure Boot

Step 4: Transfer your files to the external hard drive / 2nd USB drive
You will now need to have the external hard drive or 2nd USB drive on hand - make sure whichever drive you use is large enough to hold your Windows data.
Now, you need to restart into the USB you flashed Feren OS on - do not shut down Windows, make sure to "Restart" Windows instead.

If successful, congrats, you're past the hardest part of this tutorial!
You should now see a Desktop with "Install Feren OS" on the top-left corner - instead, follow either of the following guides below to transfer your files to your external hard drive or 2nd USB drive:

Step 5: Eject your external hard drive / 2nd USB drive and install Feren OS
Now you have transferred your data to your external hard drive, go into Files (the 2nd of the 3 icons initially seen in the bottom-center of your screen) and safely eject it by pressing the ⏏ symbol beside its listing in the left-side list of folders and drives in Files.
Once you're done, it's finally time for the exciting part: Installing Feren OS onto your computer!
With all your USBs and external hard drives ejected from your computer, go into the Applications Menu, go to System, and click on "Install Feren OS". Then, follow the guide below to replace Windows with Feren OS:

After installation is complete, set up Feren OS as instructed on your computer's screen until you reach a Desktop that looks identical to the one you saw once booted into the USB earlier, except that "Install Feren OS" is no longer present in the top left corner.
Step 6: Transfer your files back with Transfer Tool
Reinsert the external hard drive, or 2nd USB drive, that you transferred your files to earlier prior to installing Feren OS.

Step 7: Install your favourite applications and have fun!
Welcome to Feren OS! You can use the Store to get most, if not all, of your favourite applications installed.
